The Second Lesson of Advent is the lesson of faith. The bible tells us that in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Faith gives us the ability to trust in something that we do not see or completely understand. There were so many participants in the first Christmas story who didn’t have a full understanding as to what a Messiah would be but who were obedient anyway because they felt God’s call in their lives.
