1828 – Orin Thompson founded a carpet company in Enfield, CT

1834 – Sabbath School Started

1839 – First Presbyterian Church organized in Connecticut under the jurisdiction of the New York Presbytery

1841 – First Presbyterian Church building built

1845 – Congregation split over use of musical instruments during worship

1851 – Presbytery of Connecticut formed, carpet company failed

1854 – Carpet mill reorganized as Hartford Carpet Company

1875 to 76 – Church body enlarged and rebuilt church

1878 – Ladies Aid and Missionary Societies formed

1884 – Christian Endeavor Society organized

1893 – Pipe Organ installed – used until 1977

1895 – Pews free for evening service

1896 – Start of envelop collections.  Sale of pew “slips” being omitted

1914 – Church fire, $5,000 in damage

1916 – End of pew rent

1939 – One Hundredth Anniversary

1953 – Church Incorporated in State of Connecticut

1961 – Vote to relocate Church

1965 – Dedication of Church at 1518 King Street

1971 & 72 – Decision to to re-unite First Presbyterian and United Presbyterian Church’s

1972 – Calvary Presbyterian Church accepted by Connecticut Valley Presbytery and dedicated

1973 – Installation of Rev. Craig Peel
