The Good Samaritan is a familiar story. It is so familiar that we may think that we know it’s meaning before we read it. That is always a danger in reading the scriptures too casually and not thoughtfully.
Today when I reread this story, I discovered a character in this story that I had never noticed before. When I thought about this character, it changed my whole outlook on this story.
