Does God want us to fear Him? Isn’t His love stronger than fear? Can’t we just replace the word fear for the word love in the Bible? These are important questions that the world is asking of Christians these days. Certainly, in our postmodern world, people want to paint a picture of a loving God, who is polite and harmless. This image of God could easily fit in with us at Starbucks while we are hanging out with our Cappucino drinking, open minded, hipster friends. Yet the God of scripture demands to be taken more seriously than a frivolous companion who will always loves us but never corrects us.
