On Sunday, we’ve been talking about Paul’s visit to Phillipi. You may remember that I said that the city of Phillipi served as a retirement place for Roman Soldiers. It could also be a difficult place to live if you did not conform to Roman Ideals. So, when Paul writes his letter to the church of Phillipi, he emphasizes the primacy of Christ in all things and the believer’s responsibility to live out Christ’s gentleness here on this earth.
